Finding and Building the Relationship

Octagon is currently seeking full or part time sales representatives. The core purpose of this role is to generate new business through networking, calling & social media.

Responsibilities:

  • Generate new business
  • Manage those accounts
  • Coordinate with internal team
  • Create project briefs for the creative team
  • Send to the team request for quotes
  • Deliver quotes
  • Close quotes
  • Handle presentations (supplied by creative team)
  • All client communication
  • Network, network, network
  • Will be given leads that come in through the web but you are not to rely on these as your main account winners. We are looking for hunters not harvesters

You should have:

  • Strong communication skills
  • Network abilities
  • Knowing that this industry is not 9-5
  • Knowing that you'll make a very decent living with hard work and dedication
  • Knowledge and desire to attend networking events, trade shows, galas, PR events
  • Not to rely on the company to hand you opportunities. These must be generated by yourself. As the relationship grows you may be asked to handle some of our internal accounts but for now we are looking for relationship hunters, not harvesters of existing business. I can hire a coordinator to do that.

We are one stop communications company. I've often described our relationships with our clients in two categories. "Reactive" which is them needed a particular project executed usually quickly i.e. we have a trade show coming up and need a booth, we need a brochure designed right away etc. "Pro-Active" is our taking initiative and creating the relationship where we will work with the client for the next 365 days and help them plan their budgets.
